School Voucher Qualifications



To be eligible, a student must meet all of the following requirements:

  1. Be a resident of Indiana
  2. Be accepted for enrollment into a participating voucher school that is located in Indiana
  3. Be between the ages of 5 and 22 no later than August 1 of the school year
  4. Meet the income requirements

In addition to the income requirements listed above, there are eight different pathways that a student can meet in order to participate in the school voucher program. The eight pathways are outlined below. A student must only meet one of the eight pathways to participate.

SCHOOL VOUCHER STUDENT PATHWAYS
  • Child attended public school the full previous school year and is entering 1st grade or higher
  • Child attended Pre-K through the state-funded 'On My Way' Pre-K Pilot program in the previous school year
  • Child is assigned to an 'F-rated' public school based on residence for the coming school year
  • Child has a sibling who received a school voucher or tax credit scholarship at any time in their K-12 education
  • Child has a documented IEP or ISP
  • Child received a school voucher during any previous school year
  • Child received a tax credit scholarship from an approved SGO during any previous school year
  • Child is in foster care or is a foster child
