The Indiana Education Scholarship Account Program was created in 2021 to provide Indiana students who utilize special needs services access to the educational environment that best meets their unique learning needs.

The State of Indiana allocates a certain amount of funding for the education of each Hoosier student. The INESA program allows parents to utilize these funds to customize their child’s educational experience. Students who participate receive 90% of their state education dollars and all of their child’s special education dollars via a government-authorized scholarship account similar to a Health Savings Account for educational needs. This funding can be used by parents for educational expenses for their child including, but not limited to, special needs therapies and services, approved curriculum and curricular materials, and tuition and fees at an approved non-public school of their choice.
